Camp goals.

Let’s be honest, if I could be her Mommyguard  24/7, I’d do it. Her smaller stature makes her seem more fragile than she really is, but every medical professional has given her the clear to go forth and be an active kidlet. Still, our first non-covidy summer and I wasn’t ready to set her loose among the gang of kids whom our two older kidlets assimilate with ease. So imagine our delight and relief upon learning from our friend whose daughter has hemiplegia, that there exists a gem called Intensive Therapeutics that combines therapy + play with peers. Kidlets with a range of challenges can benefit from their model. Our experience was with their Summer Camp Helping Hands and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the progress made toward some of her development goals and the sweet friendships she formed along the way. The therapists who served as camp counselors were so delightful and communicative. By the end of camp, we were given a compilation video time-lapsing kidlet’s process against each of her goals over the weeks. ? Though not as much as for some others (families of children with hemiplegia travel from all over the world to go here), camp was a bit of a hike for us. Fortunately, they’re extremely accommodating to families and both of us were able to work during the day from their makeshift home office across the parking lot – a small sacrifice for large gains in yet another milestone for this kidlet: summer camp.
